安全生产往往被认为仅是企业和政府主管部门的工作，人们论及可持续发展只提到资源、环境、人口，却忽略了安全生产。本文论述了安全生产是可持续发展的重要组成部分，以使社会各界重视安全生产工作，保障生产活动中人的安全。本文简要介绍了可持续发展观的起源和内涵，用人的需求层次理论论述了安全生产与可持续发展的关系，从中国安全生产形势严峻的角度分析了安全生产对中国可持续发展的影响，从以人为本，坚持全面、协调、可持续发展观出发，对做好安全生产工作提出了七个方面的对策建议。

    Abstract: Work safety is usually considered to the responsibility of enterprises and government agencies. When sustainable development is discussed, people may talk about resources, environment and population but lose sight of work safety. The author contends that work safety is an indispensable part of sustainable development, a call for the whole society to pay greater attention to work safety, thus protecting the safety of man in work activities. The author touches upon the origin and meaning of the sustainable development strategy, analyzes the relationship between work safety and sustainable development by the need hierarchy theory, and reviews the implications of work safety for sustainable development in a context of serious concerns for work safety in China. Like any other matters, sustainable development itself is a changing process which can be divided into different phases regions at different times. Since the work safety situation is serious, China should take work safety as an indispensable part of its sustainable development strategy. The paper also puts forward solutions and recommendations from seven aspects to enhance work safety, by following the doctrine of people orientation and the concept of overall, coordinated and sustainable development.
